Who is Rachel Uchitel?

Today's Newspapers are full of reports that golf billionaire Tiger Woods was involved in an car accident on late Friday night at about 2:30am.

There are a number of different reports on the accident in the newspapers and as well as statements from police including one making clear that no alcohol was involved.

An accident at 2.30 am for a man with an extremely clean cut reputation seems odd, is there more to it that might be obvious.

Some newspaper reports have suggested an argument between Tiger Woods and his wife, former Swedish model, Elin Nordegren may have triggered the accidents, while at least one paper has gone further to name one Rachel Uchitel in connection with the argument.

The UK Sun reported on its website on Saturday morning:

Sources said Tiger and beauty Elin had been arguing before the accident.

Reports in the US claim he has been cheating on her with party hostess Rachel Uchitel, 34.

Rachel is said to have followed Tiger around the world.

She was photographed at the same hotel where Tiger was staying while playing in the Australian Open.

Lawyers for the golfer have denied the allegations.

So who is Rachel Uchitel?

The earliest press mentions of her date back to 9/11 when she suffered the tragic loss of her finance James Andrew O'Grady, 32, an investment banker who for worked Sandler O'Neill & Partners in the Twin Towers.

The pair had just returned from a 10-day vacation in Greece before the tragedy and were due to wed the following May.

A few years later there are press reports that she found love again in the arms of Steven Ehrenkranz. Steven also an Investment Banker who had himself narrowly escaped the tragedy of 9/11, and had recognized a Rachel an old school friend in a photo on the cover of The New York Post reporting on her search for her fiance.

They met later at a mutual friend's Halloween party and eventually married in November, 2004. A society wedding in the Deco splendor of the new Cipriani event space in the Toy Building in New York.

Sadly it was not too last, and Rachel moved on from the marriage and also from New York. She moved to Las Vegas where she set up in Nightclub and hospitality management and it seems made quite a success of it.

After the successful stint in Vegas she returned back to New York. In an interview with the Black Bookmark, an online resource for creatives she reveals how she achieved success in Southampton ("aka the Hamptons"), Long Island's ultra-trendy, ultra-rich enclave. (Pictures of her in the Hapmtons)

“I’m currently director of VIP operations for Pink Elephant in Southampton. I spend my weekends at the beach with the two loves of my life—Ozzy Osbourne and Rudy Giuliani—my affenpinscher and brussels griffin. I’m back in the city during the week.

In the Hamptons, I’m obsessed with Nello, Lily Pond (where the cutest guy in New York works, who I am crushing on), and of course Pink Elephant. I own a Turnberry apartment in Vegas. I love going there for long weekends when it’s not too hot out. I love Saint-Tropez and spend a few weeks there every year. The Four Seasons in Thailand (Chiang Mai) is my favorite place in the world.”

She also sheds some light on her love life.

Although I’ve been romantically linked to a famous baseball player, a Broadway star, a musician, and various film and television actors, I will never kiss and tell!

Rumours have also circulated about an affair with a married TV star but nothing has been confirmed
